The dramatic story began when the fire broke out at their home at 4:45 am, they were living in a trailer and 9 people were at risk of death in the blaze, firefighters who were on the scene say. Tyler was the first to be awakened by smoke and was able to get inside to wake up 6 family members, all of whom escaped alive.

However, when he tried to save his uncle Stephen Smith, who was on crutches after losing one of his legs, the child was unable to get out. The boy’s grandfather was also killed in the fire.

It is not yet clear where the fire started and the survivors, who are alive thanks to this 8-year-old, are the boy’s grandmother and cousin.

Tyler didn’t live in this trailer, but he asked his mother’s permission to stay there with his grandparents because he wasn’t going to school on Mondays because of vacation.
