Even though he was only 10 years old, Troy did something that would help everyone on the bus. Student CM2 smelled something strange. There was a strange smell coming from the person driving the bus.

He wasn’t your usual bus driver either. Instead, he worked as a deputy, usually in an adjacent area. Curious and concerned about the smell, Troy was even more skeptical when the driver began to swerve and accelerate down the road.

There was a moment when the driver braked, causing some students in the next row of seats to hit their heads. Troy was convinced something was wrong when the driver skidded on a tight curve and started racing down a highway.

He told his classmates that he would call 911. Several friends tried to persuade him to reconsider. They were afraid of getting in trouble to call, Good Day Sacramento reports.

Fortunately, according to Good Day Sacramento, Troy was one of eight children. Perhaps he knew what it meant to take care of other children. That’s when his instincts started to ask for help.

This time he wouldn’t ignore his intuition. He bravely told his friends that he wasn’t worried about the possible consequences because he wasn’t “too good.”

The police eventually arrived and found that Troy had saved all the children on the bus from a potential disaster.
