Budd Caldwell’s deep love for his wife Betty spanned decades and continued to shine after her death.

His wife’s favorite song was “Daisy a Day”, and he sang it several times during their 56-year marriage.

Bud surprised his wife with bouquets of daisies whenever he could, sometimes breaking out into song when he presented them to her.

Sadly, Betty passed away one day in 2013. Leave Bud alone.

Betty, however, always remained on his mind; He always held her in his heart.

To show his abiding love and admiration for Betty, Budd purchased a memorial bench in Lakeside Park in Von du Lac, Wisconsin.

The chair contains a small plaque with Betty’s photo on it and some information about the woman Bud proudly called his wife.

Every day Budd visited this monument to honor and appreciate his wife. Often he would just sit there and sing her favorite song. He told her about his life and he told her. About the weather and what was happening in the world and how much I miss it.

But when the snow began to fall and winter came, it was difficult for Bud to visit the seat of my house. It became increasingly difficult for Bud to lay flowers or even show his love the way he wanted.

On a particularly snowy day, Bad could stand alone on the sidewalk and look at the shore from a distance; The snow was just too big to handle.

Little did he know that two strangers had followed Bud’s daily ritual and secretly decided to help him.

Just watch the CBS news story below to see the selfless act that brought tears to my eyes.

It is a story of love, kindness and two park workers who will restore your faith in humanity.
