The father was surprised to discover a creepy room under his house, which he had no idea it was.

After moving into a pre-1900 home with his wife Kimberly Jane in 2015, Ben-Man was thrilled to discover a secret well leading to an old cellar.

The couple had no idea of the secret room’s existence until they saw the damaged floors and decided to investigate.

When the couple discovered that the underground basement was full of water and debris, Ben, 39, decided to bring it to a boil while he renovated the rest of the house.

Ben, a sign maker, explains: “There were some rotten floorboards and the man I bought the house from wouldn’t let me look around until we settled in.

“After noticing that many houses in our area had basements and stairs leading down, I had the feeling that there was something hidden underneath.

“I took a chance and guessed the location of the stairs, cut open the hatch and discovered a flooded vault.

She was in dire condition, with a foot of water and debris on the floor. I had to replace all the floors and beams as they were decaying. Despite the fact that many repairs were needed, I thought it was a nice side effect.”

When work finally began on the hidden room, the couple decided to convert the old basement into a home theater and convenient playroom for their one-year-old daughter, Bella.

They spent £4,500 to convert the moldy basement into a home theater complete with a custom sofa, projector and bar.

Ben said, ” “I did a lot of secondhand shopping and used a lot of used things. I built my own pumping system, which allowed me to save a lot of money by doing the work myself. The work began in October 2020 and was only recently completed due to the fact that it was a continuing project.

“A huge l-shaped lounger, shelving racks, a popcorn machine, a sweet vending machine, a mini-fridge, a projector, and a bar area are among the amenities. It’s around 12 square meters, and it’s a perfectly functional space that we’re glad we found.”
