The snowy owl nests in the arctic tundra of far north Alaska, northern Canada and Eurasia during the “warm” months and further south in Canada and northern Eurasia during the winter.

The snowy owl has been classified as a “vulnerable” species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, meaning it is likely to be endangered unless conditions threatening its survival and reproduction improve.
