Jared’s wife died, but only a few months after the death of his beloved life partner did he have the power to clean things up. On this occasion, she also looked at her laptop, which had remained untouched all this time. When he saw, he trembled.
Sharry had left a few videos on the computer that she had filmed for her baby. In the videos, she told stories to the little one and sang to him.
Now for the two left behind, watching these videos remained a ritual. Almost every night, Jared and his son look at the pictures Sharry left behind and remember how much they love her.
Here is one of these clips:
Jared Buhanan-Decker, 33, and Sharry Buhanan-Decker, 29, had been married for almost a decade. Sherry died four months ago during childbirth from an amniotic fluid embolism, which is an uncommon illness in which the fluid that surrounds the baby in the pregnancy enters into the mother’s bloodstream.
Doctors performed a C-section on Sharry during the emergency birth and were able to successfully deliver the baby boy.
“What we thought would be the best days of our lives turned out to be the worst.” According to Buhanan-Decker.
Buhanan-Decker said he’s been going through things Sherry left behind since the day she died, and one of the buried treasures was recordings of her voice — songs she wrote years ago.
“These tracks were in a format I couldn’t convert,” Buhanan-Decker explained. So he turned to Reddit for assistance.
Hundreds of people from all over the country responded within hours, saying they would take care of it.
“I recall one of the first ones, a guy saying, ‘I’ll have this done in an hour,’” said Buhanan-Decker.
He now rocks his baby kid J.J. to sleep practically every night while listening to his mother sing to him.
